First Post

There has to be a first post and this is it.

Robert Dziekanski died Oct. 14, 2007 - it is the opinion of this writer that Robert’s death was unnecessary and that the actions of the RCMP were reprehensible. The most worrisome aspect of it was that there were four officers and that not one of them had the awareness of the situation to even attempt to stop the others from executing Robert.

I can see that there might be a situation where one officer might go too far, or even a situation where two officers might not see or perhaps not even care to what extent they have strayed from reason but I simply cannot imagine that there wouldn’t be even one aware and reasonable member out of four officers. Yet that seems to have been the case.

This state of affairs cannot be tolerated. Canadians appear to have a police force where a group of four officers cannot count even one cool head among them. The conditions which allow that to happen must be changed. Some of those conditions may be unrelated to the actual events that culminated in the death of Robert Dziekanski but any condition that results in not one out of four RCMP members even half-heartedly protesting the extent of their fellow officers actions needs examination.

Subsequent posting will get into that a bit more, but since this is the first post this site would like to extend its condolences to Robert’s mother.

Mrs. Dziekanski, I/we are truly sorry for what happened. This site is in no way attempting to capitalize on any aspect of your unfortunate situation. It is to be hoped that you approve of the dedication of this site to your son. If there is anything that we can help you with you have only to ask.
